Psalm 1:3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither — whatever they do prospers.
Like a tree planted by streams of water
Those who desires to be filled by God is the same as the tree that is planted beside streams, for it is near to its source of water and because of that it will live and will never experience dryness. Being near to God is important just like that tree that is near to the streams. Take a step to God and He will take the ninety nine step towards you — it only means that you must do something to be closer with the Lord, may it be small or big effort, as long as you do it sincerely to be closer with Him, and God will do the rest. God will draw Himself to you for you have drawn yourself to Him.
Which yields its fruit in season
When you eat right, drink enough water, well exercise, you're well physically, you do the things you do energetically. Same as when you take care of yourself spiritually, your soul is filled with the word of God or with the presence of God — then the strength that you have makes you more diligent of doing the work for God's glory.
Yielding fruit as you continue your journey with God:
Christ likeness or Godly change is evident in your lifestyle
Winning souls for God's Kingdom or inviting souls to have faith in Christ.
Ministry or ministries for the glory of God.
You're being a blessing to other people or you're allowing God to use you as an instrument for His glory.
These are some of the examples of fruits that an overflowing soul has. I hope and pray that your soul will yield its fruits for God's glory.
Whose leaf doesn't wither
A tree that has its roots deep and near to it's source of water will never be dry, its leaves will never get dry, its trunk and branches will be strong, no storms can tear it down, it will stand strong for its foundation is strong. Just like a soul that's always filled in the presence of God — that soul will stand and endure till the end and will never run dry but will be always fresh and ready for more.
Prospers
Good news! God wants you (us) to be like that tree planted by streams of water. Are you willing to receive the invitation of God. To be filled and overflow is not just easy as you think. Blessings and favors awaits to those who are faithful to God. But you must remember to be responsible for everything that the Lord is giving you. And I tell you my friend, you will never regret giving your life for God's glory. So go ahead — start and continue to be closer with God.
